Sure it was a flawed movie- marred by over-bearing preachyness, a relationship that teetered between sweet and pervy, and a rather out-of-touch concept of what it is like to be young, but it was still a good movie.

All those flaws aside, he was able to beautifully explore the loss of humanity and empathy in our society using black comedy and over-the-top violence. I really look forward to seeing how he will grow as a director.

Haven’t seen his other directing work, (and I can’t stand Jimmy Kimmel), but I can’t wait for this one! I will tell you right now, it will be about people and how they react when the normalcy of their world has been shattered by an event beyond their control. Don’t expect a movie about a boogeyman jumping out of the bushes- in other words, he will do it exactly how a bigfoot movie should be done.
