In fact there is some merit to the suggestion that King Kong might very well be the single most influential motion picture ever made. I adore that movie and never tire of watching it. I have to watch it at least once a year. It succeeds on so many levels. This Blue-Ray release should be outstanding.

It was such a shame that Peter Jackons’s 2005 ‘remake’ (I use that in the loosest term) turned into such a silly cartoonlike caper weepie chick flick when the potential was there to make a great movie. I was so disappointed with Jackson’s 2005 effort. I think I’ll even take King Kong ’76 over that one. At least it had Bridges and Grodin and Jessica Lange in a pair of skimpy shorts, plus a super score by John Barry.
