I dont mean to be rude, but what has been said above in the article kind of contradics texasbeliever’s story, the tales of being attacked by this creature..would it really have run away when spotting a human? wouldnt it have attacked it?

My cousin claims to have had a run in with the creature near Simms, Tx around 1978/1979. He was out squirrel hunting by himself and was sitting on the ground with his back to a tree when he heard something coming up from behind. He turned to look and it was standing about 40 yards away. He dropped the 22 he was carrying and ran as fast as he could back to the house. It had been raining so it was muddy and slippery in that clay. He did say the creature was as startled as he was and it too turned to go the other direction. My aunt said he about tore down the screen door coming into the kitchen and was as white as a ghost. He was probably a junior or senior in high school at the time and was, and still is, a very level headed individual.

I finished the book a few weeks back. It was very well done. I didn’t want to put it down. Very satisfying.
