I’ve seen the film and it is most definitely not a slasher movie.

Bigfoot does not perform any violent acts through the entire film.

It’s about Bigfoot contracting rabies and at the end you actually feel empathy for him and the main character, a man who has been searching for Bigfoot for numerous years on a path of revenge but has a change of heart when finally confronted with the cryptid. Actually, Legend of Boggy Creek show a much more aggressive and violent Bigfoot.
