It was called the Chicxulub impact, and crocodiles were of substantial size, as were the ancestors of many fish. Oh, and, Mnynames, have you ever heard of the phenomenon known as Dumb Luck, where something just happens to be in the right place at the right time in order to survive? It's what happened with the Ceolocanth.

Nothing would thrill me more than the discovery of living dinosaurs or their relatives, the Pterosaurs, but I just don't see this as at all likely. The Xiculub impact of 65 MYA was just too severe to allow for large animals to have survived. I have read that there were some Dinosaur tracks and bones discovered that date past this event, but that these were of very small, cat-sized animals, nothing large-scale. Pterosaurs, being smaller, may have fared better, and in subsequent millennia grown larger, but it seems more plausible to think that the Ropen and Duah, if they exist, are large bats or just maybe birds. The glowing, while fascinating, may not be that unusual either. Bioluminescence seems unlikely, but many birds have been seen to glow at night, most often owls, through an unusual form of phosphorescence.

They never collected the eggs as they simply were unable to locate them.

I know for a fact that not only Pteranodon had a bony crest, but others such as Thalassodromeus, Topajara, and many more.

So what happened to the eggs? Were they ever collected? Did they end up in someone's breakfast sandwich? Or did they simply get "lost"?
