So, given all that we know about Loch Ness, the tales of Nessie, and the history, sightings, encounters and folklore relative to the beast, there’s a big question that needs answering: is it safe to swim in the waters of the ancient loch?

If the St. Columba story is an ancient account of Nessie, then there is at least one account of the monster killing (though not, it seems, eating) a person.
