If your familiar with Pa. wilderness areas this comes as no surprise in terms of sightings. Pennsylvania has more hardwood forests than any other state in the union. The endless mountain region expands for a hundred miles across the northern part of the state and many of the counties have very few residents and boast a huge vastness of forests that are virtually untouched and unexplored. There are counties so sparsely populated in these regions, including one county (Sullivan) that boasts only one single traffic light. Eighty to 90 percent of the PA. population live in 15 percent of the counties. I have lived in Oregon, Wash, and Pa. and they are all comparable in terms of being unexplored and hard to penetrate terrains. Pa is loaded with rocky mountainous regions that are perfect for the big guy to hide and avoid human interaction. You have to see these areas to really appreciate their remoteness.

Bigfoot really gets around. For a creature (as some say) that crosses over and into different dimensions, it sure does leave a lot of tracks.

Hmm. I live in Allison Park which is about 9 miles north of Pittsburgh and there hasn't been any mention of BF in the local papers or tv although a few weeks ago a cougar was sighted by several people in the Carrick area, another Pgh. suburb and those sightings did make the papers and local tv news. I'll have to keep an open ear and watchful eye for the big fella and have a camera ready. Thanks for the info Craig.
