Please also let me unreservedly apologise to anyone, especially any Canadians who were upset by the story. I have visited Canada on many occasions and find its people and in particular it’s cryptid research community the friendliest and most helpful in the world.

It is utterly appropriate to have our unofficial provincial animal representing us at these games and we wouldn’t have it any other way. If we could add Ogopogo and Cadborosaurus to our mascots that would be perfect, but they will be there another day.
