The precise definition of species will always remain elusive around the edges of its meaning since it is in a practical sense a term dependent on just how the particular research is geared. For the purpose of studying populations, it makes sense to be able to discern these differences as they reflect the details found in various habitats and landscapes, and those ultimately are what many are interested in order to more fully understand how they operate.
