Now this may be a false memory ie like the Thunderbird photo, but i am sure i read in the Fortean Times approx. summer 1999 that they found the stolen Phangboche hand bones in some London University drawer and tested them and found them to be either similar or exactly the same as Neanderthal bones, any ideas ? or am i indeed suffering from false memory syndrome ?

I love this ride and Disney World. We rode it for the first time back during a "soft opening" before it was officially opened to the general public. We just happened to be down while they were doing some of the final tests. The queuing line is great and the museum heightens the experience before you get on the ride. When Disney decides to do something, it is done right!!

There are two places that I know of which have tremendous crowds but where you can actually lay something down and not have to worry about someone stealing it - Disney World and Augusta National during Masters week.

It must be amazing to consult for Disney. I don't care for their copyrighted to infinity and beyond corporate policy but I have to admit, when they decide to do something, they tend to do it big and do it right. (save putting Euro Disney in France. ;-) LOL)

I've read some of their behind the scenes policies regarding missing children and how they pull on the costume characters to relay and detain in order to not frighten children, pedestrian traffic flow, subliminal adverts and things of that nature. To bad Walt isn't around, can you imagine what would happen if he put his influence and money behind the search for cryptids?

Expedition Everest is one of our favorite rides at Disney. It's probably as close as I'll probably get to mounting a Yeti-hunting trip to Nepal and the authenticity (Disney's hallmark) of the attraction really stands out. I'm wondering Loren if they asked you to comment about the supposed physical appearance of the creature and if any details went in their final design? At least he is brownish and not white! (though they still advertise/sell merchandise with the typical white and/or blue yeti.)

Also found an interesting article with regards to Syfy's Josh Gates presenting a footprint cast from one of their expeditions to Joe Rohde the lead designer of 'Expedition Everest.' Supposedly this cast is now on display at the attraction. Anyone have pics?

The entire Pangboche hand was completely stolen in 1991, and is probably part of the artifacts underground, in someone's personal collection, today. Sadly.

Great article Loren and a great follow up to your Tom Slick book from a few years back ! I was at Disney a few weeks back and saw the mini museum which was of course impressive as are all things Disney. Any chance a Jimmy Stewart type of person will sneak in and take the hand again?
