To all the sceptics: I have been telling people about this sighting for years, and if you've ever seen anything that can't be explained by convention then you will understand my reticence in telling "The World". I don't think that the beast thought " Ohh I'm gagging for a pint" or anything like that, I think it was out to grab whatever was on the table, In reply to Greywolf: Yes the beast was lightening fast, we only caught a glimpse of it's arm but the most puzzling thing was the fact that we heard the bottle smash about 10 seconds later. Alligator: it was a chinese german recipe pilsner. Sausage1: you assume that this was Mr Yeren how do we know if it was a he or a she? Photoexpert: Only one beer on the table being shared by three humans. And in response to why it took so long for me to make this sighting official, I had always half thought that it could have been a Golden Monkey and just the other week I signed up on youtube and typed in "Golden Monkey" looked nothing like it, one of the related videos descibed the "Yeren" and as it goes those videos looked nothing like the beast we saw either. Upon further investigation I came across this site so sent off my account of which I am very proud to have my sighting logged for the world to see. I am also in regular contact with one of the other witnesses, the other two "an old chinese man" never to be found I'm sure but the other is a Dane called Thom must be in his lte 30's by now. squatch-toba: I am a native of The British Isles and my account was written in english as for the 20mph issue I bet I could grab a beer off a moving target like this, take for instance those Mongol horsemen who can pick an egg up off the ground at full gallop, and if you were a Yeren and you knew that a train came down the same tracks all you would have to do would be to wait for one to come, climb up a strategically located tree and wait, or consult the train timetable (if you could read chinese!) Anyway thanks to everybody for the comments Adam Campbell

Since the bottle was smashed I have to conclude it was a Coors Light.

A highly significant question remains unanswered about this sighting. Was the beer a Pilsen or a Lager? :-)

Reminds me of the most frightening moment in "The Legend of Boggy Creek", when the swamp ape's hairy arm smashed through a window.

Too bad a Chinese beer company hasn't incorporated this story into an ad campaign: "Our beer's so good that a Yeren braved both detection and a moving train for a cool, refreshing taste!"

I agree with PhotoExpert. Not only that but, at 20mph you would most likely not be able to grab a "beer" off a table of a passing train. There could also be something mixed up in the translation if it was originaly in Chinese.

I believe the Yeren should have taken more of the beers on the table. If it had, perhaps the subject reporting the story may not have had a story to report. In other words, I believe the subject reporting may have had one beer too many! LOL

Why is it that some of these most bizarre stories are reported a decade after the event and some form of alcohol is involved?

I believe the credibility of the subject comes into question when alcohol is involved. That is my two cents.

What a perplexing story. I'm not sure how it could on the roof unless it jumped out of a tree, which you'd presume there'd be indications of impact. But maybe it could of ran along side the train although I have no education in the field of the velocity of primates.
