Today’s mail brought a letter from educator Paula Vaughan’s summer exploration classroom of gifted homeschoolers. They were studying a unit entitled “Mythical Beasts and Wondrous Cryptids,” probing the “mysteries with critical, yet intuitive open-heartedness that is so unique and precious for children and people everywhere,” writes Ms. Vaughan.
Paula Vaughan is the founder of OneWomansMind.net, embracing the extraordinary through story.
Vaughan continues:
Your word has been instrumental to our explorations and understandings of cryptids worldwide. For me personally, your webside, Cryptomundo.com, books and interviews have proven to be vital links to evidence and accounts supporting the discovery and experience of the many creatures and facets of cryptozoology.
As a class we would like to thank you for your continued efforts and dedication to bringing a scientific, yet listening ear to the pursuit of wonder through cryptozoology. Cryptozoology makes the realm of imagination tangible, providing hope and driving creativity while ensuring the the impossible is possible. Please accept our class donation of $50 to help the future of the International Cryptozoology Museum.
Enclosed is a check, with the following little signatures:
Roan, age 7
Ben, age 9
Esme, age 10
Ella, age 7
Kyle, age 6
Nellie, age 10
James, age 10.
I sincerely thank all these children and Ms. Vaughan. Their thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.

Please join these young people, and support the museum today. Know you may directly send a check, money order, or, if outside the USA, an international postal money order made out to

Since July 3th, donations are coming in at only less than $100 a week, so I’m hopeful Ms. Vaughan’s class signals a new round of contributions to be matched by you, reading this. There is some way to go to reach the goal of $15,000 by September 1st.
Please “Save The Museum”!
Easy-to-use donation buttons are now available here or merely by clicking the blank button below (which you can use without being a member of PayPal).
Thank you, everyone!

Thank you Loren for such a lovely post. Your personal response to the students’ efforts will have far-reaching, extremely positive impacts upon their feelings and vision toward humanity, adults and cryptozoology.
Best always - Paula Vaughan
Kudos to Ms. Vaughan and all seven students! I would think that education is a primary goal of the International Cryptozoology Museum; so it’s a wonderful thing to see these young minds getting access to the kind of quality information on the subject that’s difficult to find elsewhere, while they help to ensure the same access for others in the future
Cool; it’s great to know these kids care about this stuff
Hello, everyone, I think its great what the kids did to help Mr.Coleman but its really not enough. I am looking for 9 other people to match my $50. If interested let me know then we’ll do it all together.
I am on this site every day and it is a part of my life. People pay much more for less when it comes to buying things that they appreciate. It’s really not alot of money and its going towards something that’s important to me, you, and Mr. Coleman.
If you didn’t help yet, let’s do it already.
This gave me goosebumps when I read it. How wonderful for these children to donate!
C’mon folks, dig deep and help save the museum!
