IMHO it's totally relevant that Dyer is/was both a deserter from the Army AND a deadbeat dad- both go to his credibility and his real intentions i perpetrating the hoax. Anyone without those kind of completely classless characteristics *might* be considered simply "naive" or foolish, versus downright nefarious and criminal.

By establishing a pattern of irresponsible and negligent behaviour Dyer, and Whitton, out themselves as ammoral, arrogant, unintelligent scammers with criminal intentions of fraud and deciept.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also, reportedly, confirmed Whitton's firing from the Clayton County police force on morals issues. It also reported that ALL his arrests were under appeal and review as a result.

By continuing to affirm the "reality" of their claim these two brought on everything they get as a result of this activity. All they ever had to do was say "Naw, we're just fooling around" or simply shut up and let it go...

...which i will do now.

I had a laugh watching "MonsterQuest" the other day. It was the "Bigfoot in New York" episode and near the end, about 42 mins into the program (without commercials), Steve Kull is being interviewed and in the bottom right corner of the screen, you can see something walking behind him in the woods, from left to right. I was watching it with my sister and we both went "What's that?"

You realize that the chances of this would be pretty slim, but still, for a moment I did consider the possibility. Of course, with a second look, dark or blue trousers were visible.

Still, it was worth a laugh.

Much of this would be funny if it wasn't so damn depressing. (I confess, some of the Biscardi stuff made me laugh).

"2002 – June – Rick Dyer goes AWOL from the U. S. Army, according to a child-support complaint filed by his ex-wife (AJC)."
"2004 - A child-support complaint is filed by Rick Dyer’s ex-wife (AJC)."

Awesome timeline, Loren.
Don't get me wrong...I'm in NO way a fan of "Laurel and Hardy" of the recent GA Hoax, but the above timeline entries don't seem relevant due to their personal nature. Child-support complaints and going AWOL from the Army really shouldn't be included, in my humble opinion. It does speak to Dyer's character, or lack thereof, but we've already surmised that from the "Rubberfoot" incident.
Just my 2 cents. My apologies for being so critical. I don't mean it in that manner.
Thanks for all of your hard work on this site, Loren.
I really do appreciate all you do for the Crypto world.

Anyway, awesome timeline. Thanks.

You left out an important date!

1969 - October - Rob Jase (busterggi) goes to Berlin Fair (Berlin, CT) where Minnesota Ice Man is on display. He considers seeing it but decides that 50 cents is too much as its probably a hoax even though he has read Sanderson's article in Argosy. He spends the next 39 years kicking himself for his decision.
