The anchovy kill apparently had something to do with tainted plankton. The same kind that kills sea lions. It might be an indicator of a ‘dead zone’ like those found off of Florida.

I watched the photos on the newspaper Reforma this morning. We’ll just have to wait and see if the two events (the tsunami and the fish) are confirmed to be related. Right now I’m just happy that no accidents or casualties were reported during the tsunami alert the Mexican government issued yesterday.

I wonder if the big LA anchovy kill was connected to the activity around the Pacific Rim.
Perhaps noxious gases belched from faults under the sea led to their demise.
