I was surfing the net on hobbits and got linked here. I can’t believe you would keep sinking to the emotional plea of “but think about his family!”. What about Teuku Jacob, the man himself, was HE thinking about his family when he did those unconscionable things? I will never have any disrespect for his family, they didn’t do this unethical hackjob. Teuku Jacobs did that quite well on his own.

Like I said above. Some people don’t have a heart. ( And he may be one of them. ) And like I also said above. No matter what he did. To say it is good that he is dead is a pretty harsh statement. Maybe it’s good for the scientific world he can no longer handle material or what ever. But it is not good he is dead. I mean come on, this man does have family you know. Oh, and it’s not hard to stumble across this site. If I can do it, anybody with a computer can do it. Enough said.

Please, this man attempted to ruin the careers of the original discoverers of the hobbit fossils.He made sure that loads of important discoveries were kept under lock and key for the duration of his tenure for God only knows what reason.He destroyed those hobbit fossils entrusted to his care; then haphazardly superglued them back together.He washed those same fossils in acid to prevent any chance of DNA recovery.He made a mockery of his profession.

Should his family on the oft chance even stumble across this site, I’m sure the denigrating of their relative here is quite mild compared to what is being promulgated by his colleagues.

I would say it was he who lacked a heart.It is the rightful indignation being displayed here for this real desecration of Humanity’s sacred attempt to understand our world which is full of heartfelt passion and fury.

I may forgive, but I certainly will never forget.

I have nothing but good to say of the dead.

Teuku Jacob is dead.

Good.

Kinda of a harsh thing to say isn’t it. The only “good” dead people are murderers, rapist and child molesters. If you ask me. Sorry I just think it’s a little harsh to say “good” that somebody is dead. Unless said person is one of the three mentioned above. Because he has different views on a subject or even if he stole fossils. Doesn’t make it good that he is dead. Think of how his family would feel if they were to read that statement. Pretty disrespectful comment if you ask me. Words do hurt some people. But then again, some people don’t have hearts. Or at least some people don’t seem to have any feelings.

After reading this article about this……man and how he choose to “safeguard” and “inspect” the hobbit bones as well as his vault of invaluable fossils safely shut away…permanantly.

I saw the “hobbit” story on Discovery about a month ago. While as a human being he certainly deserves grief and some respect, one CANNOT deny that what he did was unconscionable, unethical, and unscientific. I would be franker than you and say the man STOLE the fossils from the scientists; then was FORCED to give the fossils back to the Floris scientists. Him and the other debunkers then persisted in their denial of the Hobbits ever existing, saying it was merely some sort of short “misshapen” human, even after a jaw from another identical skull was found.
Once again, he was a after all, a human being and as we might as well pay him some respect, but one CANNOT deny (unfortunately) that his unconscionable behavior permanently tarnished his reputation.

“The evil that men do lives after them/
The good is oft interred with their bones.”

You get the point, Loren.
And I quote the above with a note of sincere regret that it is too often the case.
