Great article, thanks! It will be interesting to see whether more such hybrids are observed in the future. I’ve read a bit about hybridization in orioles, and although I’ve seen quite a few Bullocks’ orioles here in California, I’ve never observed an oriole that I could confidently identify as a hybrid of Bullock’s and the Baltimore oriole, as common as this cross seems to be.

Since hybridization and the potential impact of hybrids on ecology is of great interest to me, I found this article to be fascinating (even thought I’m not much of a bird guy). Nice illustrations.
