Such a truly stupid term, Moneymaker isn’t a serious investigator he just wants fame. For a serious investigation look to Loren Coleman.

I am reminded of the time I asked a friend whose opinion I value ‘have you heard of or do you believe in the possibility of a creature commonly known as Bigfoot?’

‘Absolutely.’

‘Really? And you honestly believe this creature does exist?’

‘Without doubt it does.’

‘Really??? Are you serious?’

‘Deadly serious. It’s the kids I feel sorry for…’

It transpired that he was talking about another friend’s wife… who perhaps fits the below definition quite well…

#2 in that list of varied common meanings that Loren probably consulted has (edited for decency and grammar):

squatch (n.) – an abnormally large and/or particularly hirsute woman.

One of my friend’s meaner moments, but the sardonic wit and general badness (plus the fact that he had me going for a while) meant that story did the rounds via the people who weren’t there to hear the original and now, unbeknownst to her that (really nice) lady’s nickname has become Sasquatch. ‘Oh, I was in town and I ran into Squatch. She’s in good form…’

So there’s one more unfortunate usage… Now excuse me, I’m off to confession.

One can certainly hope. I personally do not (and will not) use the term simply because it reeks of stupid hipster insider lingo, and despite it’s origins is fast becoming intrinsically intertwined with Moneymaker and his program.
