well Miles, the society would be the organization created by Chow and Ang I assume… at least a few of the “guardians” have also been identified in some of Loren’s previous posts on the subject (or at least some of the “patsies” have been identified, if one is conspiracy minded, with some shadowy “communist guerillas” apparently still remaining unidentified.)

It has been suggested elsewhere within cryptomundo comments that this could all be a hoax perpetrated by malaysian authorities as part of a stealth tourism campaign. A form of “guerrilla” marketing, pardon the pun.

I find that idea more and more compelling as the plot thickens on this story.

Viral, Stealth, Guerrilla marketing techniques are real and all around us.

I could easily see this being an orchestrated hoax by some marketing firm working with Malaysian tourism. I have a hard time believing a real scientist would knowingly go along with this but he could easily be an unwilling dupe.

Besides, wasn’t it Loren who said, “We all know now it was an elaborate hoax, with a society created, some guardians, and eventually a website supporting this misinformation.”

What society and guardians are we talking about here?

Looking forward to all Bigfoot news wherever they may be.

A dream to see real evidence before I check out but the journey’s been great nonetheless.

This whole entire saga or story was a disgrace to cryptozoology, just my personal feeling. All they did was waste everybody’s time. It would have been great if dr.chow’s pictures showed for the first time ever the existence for a living ape like human, but they didn’t. Pretty sad ending .

BadState: Again, it’s simple coincidence. Why would Malaysian guerillas see advertisements for the American re-broadcast of a 5-year old French documentary and THEN give Chow the pictures? Clearly, whoever gave Chow the photos was aware of the show’s existence for quite some time, given that A) the original show aired in 2001, and B) they had a book based on the documentary.

It’s coincidence, regardless of how paranoid you might be. This situation is already muddled enough without complicating it further.

jjames1 and Loren. I know they schedule programming way ahead of time. It just seems like a freaky coincidence to me, and I was exploring possible explanations. Aside from Discovery being behind the hoax (highly unlikely), perhaps the hoaxers had seen an advertisement for the upcoming show, which inspired them to give those pics to Chow? Of course, it’s most likely a simple coincidence, but the paranoiac in me doesn’t like coincidences…
