Abominable Snowman/Superman Producer Brutally Attacked

Posted by: Loren Coleman on February 4th, 2011

Ilya Salkind — the possible future executive producer of Abominable Snowman and the past producer of Superman I, II and III — was found alive in a hospital in Mexico on Thursday morning, February 3, 2011, after going missing for days. Fears of foul play were being expressed by his friends, but the exact cause of why he is under medical care is unclear.

A friend of Salkind told TMZ that it was unclear how long Salkind had been in the hospital or why he hasn’t been able to contact anyone. Reportedly, Salkind is currently sedated and friends are waiting to speak with the doctor to find out more information.

Late on Friday, TMZ added more details. Apparently, Salkind was “brutally attacked” in Mexico, according to his daughter. Anastasia Salkind told TMZ that she’s been in contact with the caretaker of her dad’s estate in Mexico, who said the producer was in serious pain and had bruises on his head. Allegedly, he was kidnapped and then was found. TMZ notes that Ms. Salkind wishes to stress that her suspicions have not been confirmed by anyone involved in the formal police investigation.
