		<description>Some years back the Nat'l Geographic had an article on David Oren's search. Instead of a Megatherium perhaps it's a Mylodon? If it is discovered perhaps it will be by Van Rooslaman, not sure of the spelling, he's the chap who brought the Giant Peccary and the Dwarf Manatee to the attention of science.</description>

The discovery of a living Megatherium would open the floodgates for vigorous efforts to find other supposedly extinct fauna rumored to still exist in South America, such as the smilodon, or the rumored to exist and yet to be discovered, such as el mano grande[hope I got that right].</description>
