My husband gave me one of those for last winter's Generic Winter Holiday. (When you have a household blended with atheists, Pagans, Jews, and folks who were raised Christian, making the holiday a generic winter gift-giving event with lots of lights and cookies is the best way to go. At least for us....)

Anyway, Mr. Foot, as we call him, sits in pride of place in our foyer at the moment, though we move him around every now and then, just to keep things interesting. He serves to tell every visitor, if they haven't figured it out already, that the folks who live in our house are just a little bit different.

And my 22 month old loves him. When I pulled him out of the box, as little as she was, she just hugged his leg and patted his foot. To her, he is just a feature of the home landscape.

I sometimes wonder what it will be for her to grow up like that--thinking that everyone knows about Bigfoot and has a statue of him hanging around!
