Sounds a lot like this <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.monstertracker.com/superior.cfm" rel="nofollow">case.</a>

And there's even a picture to back it up.

Don't you just hate it when the medium sized sea serpents chase you out of the water? As far as I'm concerned, if this man wasn't too well versed in the exotic snakes like boas or anachondas, this could have been one that escaped and just wanted to give the first person it saw a great big hug.

The "it disappeared" observation, should not be underestimated as to it's true meaning, nor forgotten.

It's nice to have a sighting, but I think this leaves me with more questions than answers

I was fishing in the boundary waters once, and we had all our fish on a stringer tied to a tree sitting in the water. Out of nowhere this serpent/fish/torpedo thing zoomed in grabbed a fish off our stringer and took off. We were all completely taken off guard and freaked out for a minute discussing what it was and the initial size estimate was 6 or 7 feet long. However, being the curious investigatory types, we left the stringer in the water and backed off a little to see if it would return for the free fish. The second time it hit there was still some debate as to what kind of animal it was, but by the third time it came back it had slowed down and was easily identifiable as an otter. In fact, after it grabbed that third fish instead of disappearing it just kind of hung out swimming around looking at us for a while.

I often wonder how many stories like this could just be misidentified animals that most people aren't familiar with.

I find it curious that the syntax leaves it vague whether it followed him onto the land or never left the water.
