I saw the latest one last night. The one on the Russian Ape Men Super Soldier project. Ok, it was interesting. But was it really appropriate? Only insomuch as it can be tangentially linked to the Almas, which they did a bit. What was the verdict? Yes, Stalin did have such an idea, for a fairly brief time before he got into his 'kill everyone left over from before my takeover' phase. So much for the frustrated scientist who was not having any success anyway.

I also found it interesting that while covering the basic topic of human/ape hybrids they left out any mention of Oliver, who was once thought perhaps to be such.

I also watched last nights show. Well part of it any way. I did see the dumpster part. It was near a mall I believe. And this guy did his re-enactment of what happened. He put his spiked juice in the dumpster and waited. He said he dozed off. And then he was awoke. He stood up from the side of the dumpster and there was a Bigun. I don't remember if the Bigun was in the dumpster or outside the dumpster. All I remember was the guy saying he pulled his pistol and fired at the Bigun. He said he missed.

Again I say, "no wonder they don't don't like humans." This guy fired, he was so startled, and the animal wasn't even threatening him.

I caught the Skunk Ape episode last night as well, and for me it was the most entertaining of the lot thus far, probably because of the corollary to the Fouke Monster/Boggy Creek legend that grabbed hold of me when I was a kid (still does, in fact). The recreations were pretty good in this one as well, especially the "kid in the tent" thing and the guy with the spiked orange juice in the dumpster, though to my dismay my satellite hiccupped right in the middle of his re-enactment, preventing me from seeing the payoff!

Kudos to MonsterQuest for continuing their "more hit than miss" streak of keeping us cryptofans fully engaged! :D

I saw tonight's episode, and I hate to say it, but I was less than impressed with the people traipsing in my home state. The Bloodhound mark seemed a random shot in the dark, and they seemed to not even think about cover scents to keep the Big Fellows from being startled. Also, Skunk Ape in Louisiana? I have never heard that name in use outside of Florida. Otherwise, all of them were alright.

Finally got to see the ones I'd missed- the big cat episode and the second bigfoot episode. So far I'm reasonably pleased with the series.

Why do they never do the disclaimer? Sounds like at least one of these expeditions could use one:

"These people either (a) don't know what they are doing or (b) will not spend enough time in the field to confirm anything. Any lack of evidence obtained should be viewed as, well, expected."

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

What a very attractive as well as brave young person! The History Channel in the UK isn't showing these programmes, what a bummer.

Loren, fellow bloggers, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and thanks for all the fun and interest you have given me this year.
