Hmmmm, maybe they got confused because a Wendigo did fight a Wolverine in a Marvel Comic (an Incredible Hulk comic to be exact, and Wolvie’s first appearance).

Maybe a few too many mai-tais and Marvel classics before Monsieur de Sackville hit the sack?

The mere mention of the windigo to describe the carcass is laughable; well said Loren. A windigo expert myself (currently writing a novel on the topic and having been invited on a tv show on canadian mysteries), a journalist, historian, and part native, I am appalled by the errors spread by this individual.

unbelievable! How could anyone go from looking at a dog to windigo? Forgive me, but windigo isn’t a canine. That would be more a werewolf, except that this dog was a little small for your average werewolf. Boy, Loren, you didn’t have much to look at, did you? You would think that if someone is thinking it is the creature everyone is looking for, they would take measures to preserve the corpse.

Large, bipedal, covered in hair, voracious carnivore, evil forest spirit. I can see how you would mistake that for a dog, if you’re blind and don’t know what either a dog looks like or what a Wendigo is supposed to look like.

What I would really like to know is, how does this guy know what’s on the other side of an image in a photograph? Maybe he has one of those photo enhancers from Blade Runner.

Loren examined the remains, did it have 4, 5, or 6 toes? I know it was a dog, I said it was a dog the first time I saw the pictures, but did it have unusual toes?

Was there something about this animal that caused a stir?I have seen nothing in these photos that would suggest an unknown animal. Maybe the photos aren’t doing the corpse justice.

And something else, would anyone be interested in information on how to identify animal carcasses? How about tracking?

Not to worry. We have all run into reporters whose IQ is lower then the beasts we seek, but we must remember they have to write something or starve. Poor things.

A lot of writers have become famous because of what is left out of their writing, just look at the Bermuda triangle and do some reseach.

But as Fox Mulder would say the truth is out there and we are with you Loren, keep up the good work.
