It is not impossible for a surviving population of gigantopithicus, or something like it, living in isolated deep valleys along that mountain chain formed by India pushing into Asia, and rarely crossing over the high passes to get to other valleys, giving rise to the stories of all of these creatures.

way cool! I say, is Marak as a name similar to smith or jones? If I read this thing correctly, at least 2 (possibly 3) of the main roles had the last name of Marak. Bangladesh,
I know where that is. I wonder if my friend Brian ever got there, as a missionary?

The area covered by the Garo Hills (8,000 sq km) is almost as big as Hawaii (10,000 sq km). That’s a surprising area of wilderness for a crowded place like India. The inaccessibility of Balpakaram’s jungle-filled canyon gives these stories weight.

I’d like to see MonsterQuest or Destination Truth (or some other party with the funds) send an investigation out there. I may be wrong but this area sounds very remote and hard to access and if there is a creature there I would think it is not all that use to avoiding humans, so perhaps there would be greater chances of coming upon this creature? Very interesting.

The drawing has a strinking ressemblance with Mr. Munns’s Gigantopithecus.
