Ah, you noticed that bit of silliness too? She wasn't washing anything except her underwear and socks. In the stream. On two different occasions. Oh and she had her camcorder with her as she was washing out her delicates. What, the cabin doesn't have running water? The whole thing was badly written, badly produced, badly acted, and I think badly conceived from beginning to end.

This show is absolute garbage. I was so excited to see it then I was so disappointed once it started. How could a studio exec give the OK on a show this bad. From the terribly horrid attempt at Chupacabra sounds, to fake news reporters, to a park ranger washing her underwear in a stream being watched by bigfoot and being stalked by a poacher who spit on her hidden camera. The show was an Hour of my life wasted. Definitely sticking to MonsterQuest from here out.

Just saw the first two episodes of this. As you suspected, Loren, this show is not truly documentary. As it says at the beginning and end, "This story is inspired by the possibility that unknown animals exist". First one was on the Chupacabra [sic], the second on Bigfoot. I wouldn't even call them dramatic recreations, or dramatizations, as the incidents are fictional, though supposedly based (loosely) on accumulated reports. Over all not terribly impressed, though the one on Bigfoot was rather amusing at times.

I have a question though, that hopefully someone can enlighten me on: How common is it really for park rangers and border guards to keep a vid camera in one hand as they go patrolling, or investigating (especially if they decide they suddenly need to run through the woods or sagebrush)? Seems unlikely to me, but hey, you never know.

Oh...and a couple of questions about things stated in the 'Chupacabra' episode: Do most cryptozoologists really think that the 'chupacabra' is an unknown relative of the Aye-Aye? Also is there really a theory that this critter is what originally inspired gargoyles in medieval Euorpean architecture, and that they tagged along with explorers, arriving in Puerto Rico hundreds of years ago?

Shumway said,
"So, are they now trying to make big foot into an animal that hunts humans and has the thinking capacity to hang someone by their feet?"

He he, I immediately thought of the Wampa from "The Empire Strikes Back" Remember when it hung Luke Skywalker upside down in the cave for future dining? I'm sure that scene influenced this little ditty.

One other thing-looks like if we want serious Cryptozoological programming, we should stick to Monsterquest.

Well, color me disappointed. Looks like a knockoff of Scare Tactics. I will tune in next Thursday to see what it is about, but I don't have a good feeling about it.

I would love to see Bigfoot come out of the woods and hire an attorney for defamation of character.

That would make for a better story than this last tape meets Blair Witch Project crud.

Seriously, Bigfoot could sue those cops from Georgia, Tom Biscotti, and now Animal Planet. Maybe a class action lawsuit where a Chupacabra and the Jersey Devil can take the stand in their own defense. Wouldn't that be great?
