Local peoples often use names that have not necessarily been widely employed outside their town, village or region.

I would compare the use of Mande Burung to a name like MoMo (Missouri Monster), which while at first locally known only gains more recognition once the media begins using it (them).

Loren, for those of us not so deeply educated on the intricacies of the terms used, could you explain what, if any difference there is between the Mande Burung and the beings previously pubicized so assiduously?
