Mr. Lanier's Hiero's Journey was the first adult science fiction book I ever read, at age 11. There was no looking back - I was hooked for years after that. And now, his death (on my birthday, no less) has belatedly led me to this site, which focuses on another of my life-long interests.

Thank you, Mr. Lanier.

Wow, another loss, too many cryptozoologists are passing on.

True Bob, but I think there are a lot more amateurs out there than ever before after so many naysayers have had to take a seat due to findings in recent years.

I tell ya what, I'm not even an "amateur", but I am determined to see Champ one day. I grew up on Lake Champlain and have moved back here recently, and after that ABC video last year I'm more excited than ever. I just hope I don't encounter him (what I believe to be a plesiosaur) when I'm out in my kayak. The first time I took it out I saw some weird ripples coming right at me and freaked out for a second (was probably an otter?)
