The little one sort of sympathizes with scientists who really don't want to waste their time "saving" feral hybrids when there's so much else that needs saving. The big one says: The first rule of intelligent tinkering is SAVE ALL THE PARTS. I am of two minds on this.

Sad to think that mankind could let another piece of our precious diversity slide away because of our arrogant insistence that we "know" what is and is not there (or should be there). Some time ago i had heard that there had been some dispute as to it`s biological identiy, I guess this will settle it , now let`s save this animal from extinction.
