Comments on: Mothman Deaths Keep Away No One

Death is a very uncomfortable subject in the finer circles.
Connecting people’s future passing to a paranormal phenomenon (by which I mean the supposed connection between a creature/beast and a tragedy and not the beast itself, which I’d rather think is like any other animal if it exists) on a list like this would cause people to choke on the champagne.
Mothman or not, people like to think they are neverending.

And why can anyone like Keel suddenly gain such knowledge, insight and authority that nobody else has about the event? Could it be because he’s making it up?

Loten did a nice job in the original “Death List” article of providing an example of how almost any event, if you tracked all the people associated with it, could produce a “Death List.” The comment that “people are afraid to talk about it” is odd, given that there’s nothing to talk about other than coincidence (unless one assumes Mothman to be a malevolent supernatural entity, in which case it’s no longer a cryptozoological subject at all.)

Let me tell you this first: I’ve read the Mothman Death List… It scared the HECK out of me! Like my name says, I’m a really big “Mothman Fan”, and I’ve looked up info on him for a long time. When I found the list, I was really surprised. But for some reason I refuse to believe that, if the mothman really does exist, he (it, she (Hey we don’t know what it is!)) wouldn’t cause all of these deaths.

I mean, think about it. 8 feet tall, red eyes that can hypnotize people, can fly up to 100 miles an hour, and can mutilate cattle? If he REALLY wanted to hurt humans, he wouldn’t have any problem killing us. Some say he is the “Prophet of Doom”, like Thunderbirds, so maybe he really is trying to help.

Some say (even though I’m not so sure myself) that giant, prehistoric looking birds were seen on 9-11.

Sometimes I ask myself, but have no answer, “What’s the point of all these “Cryptids” like mothman, owlman and thunderbirds? Why don’t they stay away from humans? Are they really trying to warn us and are they saying “Stop being jerks to the earth and killing others, ect., or something really bad is going to happen…”?”
