I want to thank Loren for pointing this out to people. It could serve our field well to start exposing those who hoax and use lies to advance their personal agenda. Silence causes the public to think that we support these people. Respected researchers like Loren are the obvious choice to point out that these people are not considered part of serious research. We are going to have to debunk our own if we ever hope to be taken seriously.

I’m not suprised of a reported bigfoot sightings in IL. There have been reported sightings here before and many more unreported. More bigfoot than bear. I can not recall any bear sightings this far down state. I did not know of Biscardi until his interview on WHOI. You could tell what kind of researcher he is. He makes it hard for people who do not believe to take the research seriously.

Yes, it could be a black bear, but reportedly Ursus americanus is extirpated from the state, although they occasionally wander in from neighboring states.

UPDATE:

The Bloomington newspaper is reporting that “Tom Vielhak, 58, of Bloomington, said he and his 30-year-old son, Chris, said they saw an unidentified animal about six times from June to October.” There apparently were two. One was running like a “football player.” It was reported to be 7 feet tall; another one was said to be 9 feet tall.

According to the TV.com episode list for MythBusters, there isn’t a Bigfoot ep. There might be in the future, but I think the Bigfoot commercial for is just a promo for MB’s. I’m not so sure Bigfoot is a myth they could bust anyway. It’s that whole proving a negative thing.

We all have to remeber TOM BISCARDI’S lies on 2 shows 1 COAST 2 COAST AM, THE X-ZONE on both shows he was caught in a lie. So my question is as well as others are “WHAT IS HE UP TO?, WHAT IS HIS MOTIVE?”. Are we in for another lie are more people going to put up there money as they did in AUGUST 2005 time will tell “STAY TUNED FOLKS IT’S GOING TO BE WILD”.
