Wow Loren, cool post. And not just because of Salma, although that is one of the most memorable scenes from the movie, in my opinion.

I was just reading about various 'Volantynys' (Chaucer kills my spellcheck) murders a few days ago - it is a fascinating juxtaposition that flies in the face of the current Hallmark version of the holiday, but somehow not surprising, what with people being people and all that.

And then, Pale Ales are my favorite fermented beverage, after India Pale Ales.

I don't have specific Valentine-Crypto artifacts in mind, but...somehow along the same lines...

What to make of the various stories of abductions of female humans by Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, or other 'wild' men in their various iterations, and the oft-cited affinity a Sasquatch has for female humans, and in particular during menstruation? Again, this is not the Hallmark version of Valentine's Day, but considering the origins (no pun intended) it is likely relevant.
