		<description>The erect tail "feathers" in the Chinese artwork don't match the "ribbon-like" features in the text.  I would think the back end looked more like one of our modern birds of paradise with long, floating tail plumes.  Not quite as dramatic, of course.</description>

I have a strong suspicion that rather than "missing links" what we have here is an other family of animal itself.  Something that use to live in China, but ancient man probably killed it off (I know I would have--it looks dangerous).</description>
