At any rate, considering the rate at which shark species are being wiped out, it is good to see that there are still species out there to be discovered.

I don’t know. To me, the general shape of the mystery fish photo looks more indicative of a pelagic (open water) shark rather than a benthic (bottom dwelling) one. That is if the thing in the photo is even a shark at all. I can see what Loren means, but it isn’t a match for me.

Very few similarities. The head is all wrong, and the eyes on the sponge-head are much larger in comparison to its head.

I think you might be onto something there. This is the first suggestion that I didn’t say, “nah, not even close.” There are certain similarities that are undeniable. By the way, that LASIKplus ad at the top is causing my browser to hang up and behave funny.
