Why is it so difficult to fathom that historical sightings and legends of dragons are founded in real creatures? We know that such creatures have existed on this world... we call them dinosaurs. Firebreathing? Perhaps not, but certainly dragon like in every other respect. So modern science says they have been gone for 65 million years. We should believe that because modern science has always been right about everything I suppose. And looking throughout history there are certainly enough references to creatures that match the descriptions of those that we today know as dinosaurs. Point of trivia - until 1923 there were still English dictionaries that listed dragons as a rare but still living creature.

Finally! something interesting happening here in my hometown, and also a chance to meet Mr. Coleman! I can't wait!

Also, I pretty much agree with ninetailedfox. I've never thought much about dragons, but to think that "science" knows everything is ridiculous, and arrogant. There will be no end to new discoveries. I hope. It will be a pretty boring world when we know all there is to know.

I find it very sad that Dragons were snuffed out as myth, theres a book series called dragonlance, they did the same thing on Krynn, the next thing you know people there got the shock of thier lives. It would be nice to see real dragons, after all every continent on this planet has legends about them. Science doesnt know everything, they cant even cure the common cold, and they put foxes under Canidae and not Felidae, how insulting that someone thinks they know all there is to know, everytime some arrogant SOB thinks that, they get smacked with a hand. People havent even explored outside the Milky ways galaxy and yet they act as if they know it all, how pathetic.

The four "dragons" in the second picture look like (anatomically unlikely) variants on, or derivatives of, the form of snakes or legless lizards.
