Boggy Creek Death Rumors

In the wake of the news of the death of Karen Crabtree, an internet rumor began circulating saying that Travis Crabtree, Smokey’s son who appeared in the movie The Legend of Boggy Creek, had died.
Actually, according to Lyle Blackburn, it was Smokey Crabtree’s oldest boy, Tommy, that was killed in a pipe welding accident back in 1987. Smokey and his three boys (from the first marriage), Tommy, Lynn, and Travis, were all welders. Lynn still lives in Jonesville, Arkansas, on the Crabtree property (near where he saw the monster), and apparently Travis is still alive and well, residing in Florida.

There seems little evidence of a “Legend of Boggy Creek” curse.
