It was a comic book super hero come-to-life story, with kids trying to get the hero back into the comic before he’s discovered, etc. Kinda like “E.T.” but with caped hero. Alas, it was never produced, and Ralph Bakshi’s poorly-received “Cool World” with similar concept doomed “City of Darkness” beyond development, alas.

I also did earlier work for legendary B-movie director Juan P. Simon, director of “Pieces” and “Slugs” and “Endless Descent” (the latter was the rewrite I did for exec producer Dino DeLaurentiis, whose daughter was co-producing it).

Michael Douglas was not involved with any of the Simon work, in other words. Sorry for the confusion, and as this has nothing really to do with cryptids, per se? My apologies to Cryptomundonians everywhere! ;-)

I see a movie listed on IMDB called “The Rift” which has a screenplay by a David Coleman and a movie called “La mansión de los Cthulhu” which the same David Coleman was one of the writers.

Was Michael Douglas involved with one of these or is there a different David Coleman?
