The unfortunate thing is that for every new species like this found, there are others that become extinct or critically endangered. It's great to find new species, but I feel we also have to work on ways to keep the ones we do know about from fading away forever. It makes me wonder how many species have become extinct without having ever been formally recognized by science. This is one thing that has been discussed to a degree before on this site and it is sobering to think that some cryptids out there stand a chance of disappearing before we ever even get a chance to prove their existence once and for all.

The unfortunate thing is that most people use the excuse, "These are so small. Sure there are small things out there, but sasquatch?" I can understand that thinking, but this does prove that we haven't found every animal, yet.

“If we can find six new species in such a short period it makes you wonder what else is out there,” said WCS researcher Dr. Andrew Plumptre, director of the society’s Albertine Rift Program.

That's what I'm talkin bout!

Too bad their wasn't more hard core research like this looking for the BIG ONES! Might be able to get some indisputable evidence of their existence.

Why can't their be government funding for research for the BIG ONES!

It's very true that as big as our world is and as vastly populated most, but not All, of it is...we still know more about outer space than we do about our deepest ocean. Makes a person wonder what else could possible be out there just waiting to be discovered?

The more new animals that are found will (hopefully ^-^) help people to realize that cryptids have a high chance of existence.
