Thanks for the birthday wishes, and the Museum donations today.

The replica is the Safari Ltd. model of the Giant Squid (Item #2123-02), in their Monterey Bay Aquarium series. It is 18 inches long, and quite useful in discussing the discovery of the Kraken, from cryptid to real animal.

“Cacomixle” is the Spanish name for the Ring-tailed Cat, Bassariscus astutus.

Third – what is the critter in that last picture? It says ‘Cacomixle’, but I’ve never heard of it.
