Its a good thing that this could happen. I can't wait until they discover a coelacanth that is 10 feet long and as fast as a blue marlin (that would be awesome).

Some animals that live in the ocean, humans will definitely never be able to find them (well until maybe future generations, after Earth change to some new age, and keeps on going like the circle of life that it always do, and so on.)

Amazing. Populations of these things keep springing up and to think we thought they were extinct for millions of years. It is stories like this that to me really put to rest the argument that no new large species are out there to be found (or rediscovered), or that official extinctions are final. These fish are not even lurking in deep sea trenches well out of the reach of humans. Imagine what we'll discover next.

It would appear that coelacanths are a far more widespread than previously imagined. It also demonstrates how little we really know about the ocean depths.

It would also be good to see one in an aquarium.

As far as I know (and I could be wrong), not one is represented in an aquarium.

It will be interesting to see if this population's genetics show a greater affinity with the species from the Comoros or the relatively recently identified species from Indonesia.
