I would personally like to see all crop circle hoaxers and all UFO fakers shot (well, actually, I would prefer to see them boiled slowly in oil first and then publically hung, drawn and quartered) for all of the damage that they do to those respective fields of research. And yet some of you Cryptos seem to view this competion with equanimity or even welcome it. I would warn you that it has the potential to totally wreck Bigfoot research, because during and afterwards you will never have a chance of telling what is real and what is faked again, and certainly no one outside the Cryptozoological world will ever again take any photographic Bigfoot evidence seriously.

Is it just me, or is just the way I’m reading it that it seems like a possible contradiction to rule out indigenous or non-indigenous apes under the catergories of ’sasquatch’ or ‘bigfoot’? Surely until someone captures a bigfoot, we can’t say whether it’s an ape or a humanoid or what it is.

Sadly, I think this is just going to fuel a whole barrowload of more fake bigfoot videos on YouTube we’ll have to endure!

I must agree with Old Bub…To encourage hoax’s is wrong and in this case to get some nut in a suit in the woods with other nuts with guns and BANG one dead nut and one nut up for manslaughter. Now is that worth the money. God cut me some slack! If you don’t believe that a Bigfoot is a possiable creature then DO NOT PROMOTE such a contest.

I didn’t see anything about having to use Bushnell cameras. Did I miss it? It would certainly seem odd to award prizes to pictures obtained with (for example) Cuddeback or Reconyx cameras.

The “bonus category” should prove very interesting. We may get to see just how good some fakes can be.

No purchase necessary? What about the camera?

Unless I missed it, the photos sent in do not become the property of the ones the photos are sent to.

I offer my .02 opinion to those trying to get a serious photo.
1. Cover as much of the camera as possible in a well used horse blanket.
2. Do not urinate in the area at all.
3. I suspect bigfoot does not travel the game trails but does travel the areas close to them. Aim the cameras so they include ambush areas off of game trails.
