Twas Brillig, to turn the local myopic 50-year-old picking up his grandkid (or whoever) from an Ozzfest concert into a death-dealing agent of the New World Order does a great disservice to all concerned, I feel. I can understand your desire to find some sort of deeper meaning in this otherwise meaningless, random accident, for it is human nature to try to find some sort of pattern in the static. Killed by a temporarily blinded driver while walking on the side of the road seems such a pointless way to go, but assassinated by agents of the great conspiracy? That makes his death noble, gives purpose to the act.

Sadly, we DO live in a random and uncaring universe, whose only purpose is whatever we choose to apply to it. Some saints will die today, some demons will live until ripe old age, unrepentant for their sins. The numbers rarely seem even, and almost never just. The universe doesn’t care, it’s just a roll of the dice, count the numbers and move on.

What I think you fail to realize is that it is not whether or not his death held meaning and purpose that is important, but rather whether his life did.

I think the issue of “bigfoot” is much bigger, deeper and profound, than just simply trying to expose the existence of a new animal.

Seems more than a coincidence to me that he was taken by an “accident”. I bet he was hit on purpose.

41 years old. Survived the Marine Corps only to get taken out by a lousy truck. Ain’t that a damn shame.
