Bigfoot Filmmaker Breaks Silence
Posted by: Loren Coleman on May 16th, 2008
John L. Johnsen, the filmmaker behind M. K. Davis’ “Bigfoot is a human being” film project, has lifted his silence regarding some behind-the-scene details of their promised 2006 documentary. Johnsen has forwarded a flurry of emails to Cryptomundo.
The following message is one Johnsen posted at cz com in the last 24 hours:
I will be giving Loren Coleman the exclusive story on this and other things relating to my partnership with Davis and the true findings in the film in the next few days. There are many reasons there has been a delay in the announcement he [Davis] is planning, yet I fear since he [Davis] has deviated from his (our?) plan to do so with adequate corroboration he will face yet another embarrassing bout with the bigfoot community. Due to my respect for Davis I have sent him an email regarding this matter. His reply to my email and what transpires at the Ohio Conference will set the tone for my interview. Stay tuned. John L. Johnsen, May 15, 2008.
Excuse me while I approach these next few days with caution. In recent years, my experiences with any in-depth detailing of events when it comes to M. K. Davis have traditionally fallen short of my hopeful expectations. Still, if someone comes to me and says they are going to fill me in, I will move, with great care and an open mind, towards this information. I remain interested in any opportunity to share enlightening data with the readers of Cryptomundo.
Nevertheless, the underlying “wait and see” attitude with the entire Davis scenario does get tiring. Of course, I am not the only one that shares such feelings, as Johnsen expresses the fact he does too.
Earlier on May 15, 2008, Johnsen had emailed me:
M.K. Davis has been vacillating between personal stances on this subject for months now…and I have grown very weary of the delays, as you and others have, as it makes me seem incompetent in my duties and claims….I am willing to post permission on Cryptomundo for [the] public record, so I cannot renege on my promise of full disclosure, and let your site be the sounding board for what I believe to be the developing shortcomings of my relationship with Davis and the reasons behind them….
Right now, for the remainder of the term of the license agreement, I OWN ALL of the rights to Davis’s work as they were transferred to Patricia Patterson and I PAID her for the use of said work. So, there may be some infringement of my rights in what he is about to do, but that is not yet an issue…not yet….
I am moving away from cryptozoology as a main topic in my filmmaking. I recently have been involved with a drama production and some overseas projects for the Israeli government concerning Holocaust Remembrance Day….
My next effort will be a documentary for PBS in rural Kentucky. John L. Johnsen, May 15, 2008, 4:01 PM EDT.
Then later in the evening of May 15, 2008, Johnsen wrote again:
One other thing…you may go ahead and publish the info I have sent you so far providing that the emphasis is on the fact that we are taking a “wait and see” stance…. John L. Johnsen, May 15, 2008, 10:18 PM EDT.
I am assuming this is the royal “we,” because, frankly, I’ve been waiting since 2006 for the evidence and findings promised by M. K. Davis, via John L. Johnsen. I guess all of us can wait now, until Saturday, but after that, the clock has run out, if you ask me.
Under discussion, as seen through the eyes of M. K. Davis, what the photographic record in the Patterson-Gimlin footage from 1967 allegedly tells the world about Sasquatch, via the filmmaking of John L. Johnsen. Will more be revealed in the coming days?
The refrain heard is a familiar one:
Stay tuned. John L. Johnsen, May 15, 2008.

If Mr. Davis was bouncing wildly from one theory to another, I can understand why Johnsen wants to hear his own voice on the subject.
And get a certain amount of distance between him and Davis to limit any guilt by association from any fallout of what’s going to be said at the conference.
This could either be interesting or another round of he said, she said, Bigfooter quarreling, rampaging around forum boards.
Guess we shall have to “wait and see.”
**can’t believe I added that ….
If I understand correctly John L. Johnsen is going to make Loren/Cryptomundo the sounding board for the “new” information. Does M.K.Davis agree? Does he need to? Will this actually happen? I feel I should expect nothing of substance yet hope there is.
When it comes to the sasquatch, and to those who really want to know what it is, both we and the animal would likely agree:
The proponents can be their own worst enemies.
(And ours, too.)
Wotta circus, she said, ripping the haunch off a ten-point buck…
I agree with you, “Dwa.”
Just caught Scientific Americans latest on what’s known about genetic expression and species and the researchers are fairly surprised at how supposedly seemingly different species can have the same genetic code, their differentiation and speciation being primarily due to slight differences in ancillary supporting codes. So maybe it would turn out that if when we finally get our hands on some BF DNA we may find that we share the same basic DNA exactly with the difference being a mere matter of when the protein for hair, muscle, brain and bone turn on and off.
There are still a lot of surprises out there.
