Don't sweat it, Loren.

MM is also someone who likes to think he is a bully, but he is really a fraudulent, pompous airbag.

His day of reckoning is on the horizon.

I feel for you, Loren, I really do, especially if you do take the proper steps and inform your local authorities, which like the others I too recommend. I can only hope they're good folk who take these things in stride, rather than ones who might just roll their eyes and dismiss it after paying you some lip service. All the more so because, heaven forbid anything SHOULD actually come of this, I should hope you WOULD have the support of your local police.

When I first started posting on Cryptomundo, I kind of thought that maybe you took things too personal sometimes, but time and again my initial impression has been proven wrong as you have remained nothing but polite, friendly, cautious, understated, even-tempered, and patient with your detractors, who have repeatedly proven themselves to be anything but. I very much respect your ability to maintain your calm and stick to your principles in the face of such unjustified attacks, and indeed envy you for it.

Keep up the good work, Loren, and when incidents like this happen, remember that for every one of THEM, there must be at least a few dozen of US here as Cryptomundo who will back you up.

Sometimes you just have to shake your head in disbelief. Some people's kids.

Take care Loren.
And watch the kids.

Good luck.
We're with you.

This latest episode proves the BFRO detractors correct. To post such a stupid and dangerous post on a public forum is the height of arrogance and stupidity. Saner heads must have prevailed because the post has been removed but the damage is done.

The man who posted this bounty on his forum is a disgrace and does not reflect well on the bigfoot community.

I am one of the people who also is a member of the bfro discussion board. I read that post just after it was posted. I thought it was in very poor taste for them to even post something like that.

So if i get deleted over there ill know why.

Placing a "bounty" on someone, anyone on something so trivial is patently absurd and outright criminal. It's a sad and pathetic commentary and no one should have to experience such idiocy. Still, one has to be wary and cautious with such things. Take care Loren and be safe.

I was just completely speechless when I first heard about this news. Placing bounties? This is cryptozoology, not cloak and dagger CIA stuff. I mean how many bounties are offered for mainstream scientists? Perhaps this subject attracts some rather extreme fringe groups because I have read of threats and whatnot directed against Loren on Cryptomundo before. I find it ridiculous and disturbing that there are people out there who would go to these kinds of extremes or get so worked up about this stuff. I sincerely hope that this does not lead to anything serious and that Loren's family remains safe and his privacy intact.

The use of the word "bounty" was first used over on a forum that made a mistake targeting me, having people try to track down me, my address, and such.

They didn't get close, and they should not have been talking about me at all.

It seems like they have caught up with this fact.

Thanks to everyone for all the support, but I won't be going after anyone with a gun, won't be buying one, and actually am in the "no-kill" school for seeking Bigfoot too.

Best wishes to all, even those that wish to be my enemies. They can make errors too.

I am merely hoping at this point, all the people who live at the incorrect addresses that were published do not get bothered by zealots who wish to invade my privacy.

Loren,
Don't sweat the "bounty" too hard, I am law enforcement and back in what seems to me as the distant past when I was working dope for another P.D. some mid-level punk dope dealer put $1,000.00 on me. There is only one thing to do, hunt them down, seize their drugs, money, and assets then charge them under the RICO Act and make them serve 10-20 in the Federal Pen. For a civilian however, call local law enforcement to inform them (you will not get a uniformed armed guard unless you pay well), go to your local firearms store, I suggest something in a .45 ACP (Glock, S&W, Beretta, or 1911 clone) stay away from anything under $400.00, and I saved the most important thing for last; if you are not familiar with firearms, take a self defence class with the firearm of your choice, usually included in this type of training is safety orientation class, so you do not collect the bounty on yourself. It is serious enough to be prepared, but do not stress out. Do not depend on law enforcement to protect you, we are sworn to protect the populace at large, not the individual. Remember the old saying "a gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone", this actually makes sense if you think about it, as law enforcement we are generally cleaning up the mess not stopping it from being made. Hope I helped and not made you any more concerned, I take a realistic approach to situations, not the P.C. approach. Despite the "civilized society" we supossidly live in, there are monsters out there and the most dangerous are two legged, but not covered in hair running around in a remote region of the Rockies.
