No scientific institute in Russia checked this footage. But Russian hominologists – as I remember, there were Bayanov, Trachtengerts, Makarov, me, somebody else were looking at it collectively in 1997 at a Seminar session in Darwin museum, discussed it and had come to conclusion that the object shown in the movie, looked like genuin creature, its movement is looked like very natural manner, similar to Patterson’s creature. But all the further investigation could not acheave any result. That is why we stand on such an assess; we can’t say that it was a forgery, but the film is still a controversial

I can add that we yet keep two copies of that footage in good quality on VHS.
