CamperGuy, Sorry, it was no joke on your part. I learn something new everyday. :)

But, in all seriousness, I still think it will be hard to salvage this law enforcement officer's credibility, if in the end they claim it was all a joke.

However, I can't help but get a little excited about their claims. Even though, time and time again, we Cryptomundians face hoaxes and frauds.

The situation with all of us is to persevere in light of all the garbage and continue to ask the hard questions and investigate/analyze the evidence.

My mantra: Stinks on ice! Stinks on Ice!

As I read the Bushnell offer all they have to do is take a picture of Bigfoot with their camera. They could buy the camera take the pic(s) and have a million. I don't recall anything saying it had to be in the woods on a game trail. Proving the photo to be real would be easy since they have the cadaver and all.

The officer can play this off as a joke later on keeping reputation intact.

Stinks on ice! Stinks on ice! Stinks on ice!

bigfootsdad: Smiley face= colon + smile above zero :)

I just hope they didn't shot my son! (Insert smiley face here. By the way, how do you insert those smiley faces anyway?)

Also, I have to agree with "rayval". Having been in law enforcement, it would be occupational suicide for him or both, if it was a hoax. Their testimony in a case wouldn't mean diddly.

Loren: What types of questions or information would you like to ask of these fellows? What team would you gather to investigate their claim? What other information or evidence should they provide at this time, if it is legit, in your opinion?

They now have a Youtube video up introducing everyone to a primate pathologist that they have contacted and shown photos and the body. His name is Dr. Paul Van Buren, but the only Dr. Paul Van Buren I can find is a noted theologian who died in 1998. Does anyone know who this pathologist is and with what institution he is affiliated?

Hello guys, this is my first post since I started reading this forum 2 years ago. It was the latest claim that really got me thinking.

There is a lot of credibility here at stake, so I don't think that we should throw this claim out the window so quick.

Yes, this is probably all nonsense but let's look at the difference in this situation from the others.

One, the person who is making these claims is a police officer. Not a rent-a-cop or a security guard (not that there is anything wrong with those occupations) but a Georgia County Police Officer. If this whole thing goes South this man has a lot to lose. I am not even touching on what his reputation would be within the BF community, but his professional life would be pretty much over. This person of the law, the one who is suppose to be an upstanding citizen and paid to enforce right from wrong through the taxes of the community can't afford to mess around with fake claims. If this whole thing goes bad do you honestly think that his superiors would not have second thoughts on whether this man is competent enough to fulfill his duties. One of the job details is to appear in court and testify. This man would last maybe 3 minutes on the stand once the defense brings up his Bigfoot incident.

Do you see what I am saying? This police officer doesn't really have a lot of room to play with here. Whether it's a lie or a hoax or at the very least a bad joke, this clown just committed occupational suicide. This is not a dime a dozen job, this is a position of trust. One thing is for sure, if this is all just smoke, there will be know shortage of people wanting a piece of this guy. I could see a flood of letters to the Atlanta Office of the Attorney General right now. Time will tell.

Good morning Cryptos...

This subject was discussed in detail on the Alabama Bigfoot forum chat last weekend. One of the participants was a federal LE, CSI, familiar with the "Law Enforcement Officers" in question...he claimed to have viewed detailed high resolution images of the "Bigfoot" corpse...and was leaning toward authenticity.

The proposed non-refundable eco-tourism hunts in the PRC, together with the antics of BFT field capture tactics are buffoonish...nonetheless...a blind hawg finds an acorn ...now and then.

There has been much speculation about the ex-felon shooter...which begs the question...what can you legally hunt in a national forest in June with a 30-06...the answer of course is nada. Unless you are an outlaw protecting an illegal crop or meth lab...then the rationale becomes apparent.

My personal boycott of all Bushnell products continues...and...if there is a grain of truth to the Bigfoot Tracker tale...and the "North American Aboriginal Peoples" are documented, BFT's legal issues have just begun...JMHO

live and let live...
