A friend of mine was on the British rugby team…about 30 years ago, so I know. And didn’t mention it, but I thought Beyond Loch Ness was pretty good. And campy. And it was nice to see a “cryptozoologist” who didn’t turn out to be an idiot.

So many movies about cryptids going on bloodthirsty rampages! not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a cryptid movie that gives them sort of the “E.T.” or “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” treatment. Keep the mystery and awe alive while not making the cryptids the main antagonists. That would be something interesting and different in my opinion if it could be pulled off in an entertaining way. Oh well, I guess you can’t blow as much stuff up in those kinds of movies. That Yeti movie plot reminds me of the movie “Alive”, with a Yeti. Now that I think about it, that’s an idea for a plot maker for these B-movies. Just add “with a Yeti” at the end of any plot outline. As in “It’s an action police drama.. with a yeti.” or “It’s a civil war romance..with a Yeti” or “Well, it’s sort of like ‘Goodfellas’.. with a yeti.” Anyway, hope I get a chance to watch these at some point, they look like fun.

Concerning the upcoming yeti movie:

The synopsis for that Yeti movie sounds an awful lot like what happened to that Uruguayan football team over the Andes… minus the yeti, of course.

Thanks for the review Loren. I will certainly try and catch this movie when I can. It sounds well worth watching.

Funnily enough, last night I dug out one of my old movies on VHS….The Crater Lake Monster. I’m sure you know it. Kind of similar to Beyond Loch Ness.

Looking forward to the Yeti one too. With today’s CGI, the possibilities are endless.
