Nicely written article. It acknowledges the frenzy created by the local mayor playing up reports to the media without discounting the original (and later coroborating) reports of large cats/animal attacks.

Wish more cryptid articles were this balanced.

Probably a number of creatures responsible here. The Ocelot certainly seems like a likely candidate for at least -some- of the killings. But I have no doubt that there are still some panthers about here in NC. I’m in Western NC but my father has told me that he’s seen cougar/panther tracks before when out hunting.
