Rogutaan: Hardy-har-har.

JMonkey: LOL.

Mystery_Man: You're right about the Japanese, of course. They are at the "cutting edge" of a LOT of things. Just did NOT expect it to be Cryptid research. But you're right---not surprising. :)

Cryptidsrus- Oh I wouldn't be too surprised about how cutting edge the Japanese are. They are famously patient, meticulous researchers, with much money sunk into developing ever more advanced research technologies. In fact, there are many scientific and technological pursuits where the Japanese are firmly in the forefront, or are breaking interesting new ground. I think you may just be surprised at how many fields Japanese are at the cutting edge of.

The aquarium technologies that we've seen in Japan are just one example of where the Japanese are cutting edge, with facilities successfully keeping whale sharks and plans to keep live coelacanths in the works. Some of the most advanced aquariums in the world are located here (in Japan). Not only have they found and filmed juvenile coelacanths, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they have some living specimens on display at some point in the future.

Japanese researchers have actually been heavily involved in cryptozoological pursuits and expeditions for quite some time now. Considering the kind of results we have seen with filming creatures such coelacanths, giant squid, frilled sharks, and some cryptids, I think we can expect good things from the Japanese in years to come within the area of cryptozoology.

Red_pill_junky- I actually think that the Japanese are a good bet for being the ones to provide clear, indisputable evidence of sea seprpents if it is out there to find.

First a living Architeutis, now puppy coelacanths. The Japanese have been having a winning streak of underwater filming these past years.

Now go out and film us a proper sea serpent, guys! :)
