That 2nd video is nothing more than a domestic cat.
You know, I know someone who has a very small cat... it's a few years old and smaller than my 6-month old kitten... and she rants about how huge the cat is.
So I have no idea how many people think a 5 pound cat is 'humungus' so seeing a more normal size 8-10+ pound cat may seem monstrous to them.
One of my adult male cats is 17 pounds. He is a little overweight, but I have seen domestic cats even larger than him and in shape.
Domestic cats can be pretty big and muscular.

Well, there are some domestic cats that can reach surprisingly large sizes. I think that under the right conditions, seeing a cat that is bigger than one is used to, one could definitely overestimate the size of the thing. A problem I find with a lot of the supposed "mystery cat" photos is that it seems that there is often a trick of perspective with the way the shot was taken. You get an exceptionally large house cat that just seems massive because of perspective issues.

That being said, I do think there is something to a portion of the reports and some of the video clips and photos are interesting. Especially in Britain I think there's a good chance SOMETHING is causing these sightings other than big house cats. I just wonder where those cats came from and what they could be.

yeah a lot of these are big domestic cats and poor depth perception

now wild boar are bieng mis identified as the beast of bodmin, we had that picture all over the news papers for a couple of days along side the great white shark *cough* basking shark *cough*

pug marks and live stock killings show we have some sort of large cats wondering around our countryside though

just wish most of these video's came with decent info like the height of the fence

if thats a 6 foot fence then the cats pretty small, if its a 12+ fence then that makes it more interesting

On cryptozoology.com, they had a story about one of these cats (or dog) about two months ago. Supposedly it was photographed by two Americans on tour with an English local. It apparently could not be identified properly because the witnesses said it looked like different things at different angles (shades of the supernatural). Some said it looked like a dog, others like a cat. Apparently it turned out to be a cat that had wandered away from its home. Everything was left at that. In tend to agree with Loren---most of these sightings cannot be chalked up to escaped zoo or circus animals.
